Currently we are looking for Engineering Manager for our customer, fintech international company located in Prague. In this role you will play an important part in development of financial products across web and mobile platforms. Ideal would be a candidate who became from developer role, has experience with people management and process management.
Your responsibilities:
- Lead the coordination and execution of projects and initiatives aligned with quarterly business objectives, with support from senior leadership.
- Oversee project scope, timelines, resources, risk management, incident resolution, and delivery performance.
- Drive effective collaboration across engineering, product, and design teams by organizing workflows, monitoring progress, and removing obstacles.
- Establish and maintain clear communication and execution frameworks that keep teams aligned and accountable.
- Partner with internal teams to execute well-defined projects with clear goals and deliverables.
- Continuously improve key engineering processes such as sprint planning, on-call schedules, bug triage, metrics reviews, and workload distribution.
- Foster a healthy, productive team environment and champion operational excellence.
- Support individual team members through coaching, feedback, and career development.
- Reflect on and document learnings to refine and enhance delivery practices and team operations.
Our requirements:
- At least one year of experience in a software engineering management or team lead role, ideally in financial environment
- Experience with hands-on development with languages such as Python, Kotlin, Java or any other.
- Experience with managing people and development projects
- Strong track record of managing full project lifecycles – from concept through delivery and feedback.
- Proven ability to ship high-quality products on time, with a focus on usability and efficiency.
- Proficiency in English, Czech language is a big plus
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering intuitive, impactful solutions.
- Experience working in Agile (Scrum) environments with short release cycles.
- Solid understanding of quality assurance practices and development standards.
